Program Introduction


Hosted at East China Normal University, this program provides courses beginning through through advanced levels of Chinese courses. Students typically take classes in the morning, and have activities in the afternoon and on weekends. Total Chinese lessons: about 60 hours, plus one-on-one language practice with tutors.

Students will receive official credits equivalent to 3-4 US college language credits.

East China Normal University is one of a nationally prestigious university that specializes in education related research and teaching.  Every year about 4,000 international students come here to study. Located close to central Shanghai, and with beautiful campus, it is ideal place to experience urban Shanghai and study.

Instructors and Transcript

The language courses are taught by ECNU language instructors. Transcript is issued by ECNU.

Housing and Meals

Students will be placed in double rooms in on-campus international student dormitories. Each room has a desk, a TV set, a bathroom, an air-conditioner, and linens. Internet is available for a reasonable fee. There is a communal kitchen on each floor, equipped with a gas stove and a refrigerator. Washing machines are installed in the building. Students can dine at the university student cafeterias for about 10-15 RMB (1.5-2.4$) per meal. Many international students also choose to eat at the restaurants near the campus, with about 20-30 RMB (3-5$) per meal.

Program Fee: $3,450 for each session, $6,200 for both sessions
